OSU vs. Minnesota

You gotta Love shooting at big events! Over 100,000 people attended today's game... :-)

And we can't forget The Best Damn Band In The Land!

100th Post!

Well, I've made it to 100 posts! To celebrate the special occasion, I'm sharing my favorite photo from the last OSU game! Thanks Brad for the idea to color it! :-) This isn't your typical football shot, but sometimes happy accidents occur leaving you with a great outcome... Can't you just see this on some inspirational poster? :-)

Edison Photo Show

I was the featured photographer at Edison Community College for the months of August and September... I've posted some of these here before, but I thought I would just share them again. :-)

Homecoming Rally

This is a crappy photo, but I just loved the light. It reminds me of the lighting in a magazine ad I once saw...
A better photo of the girls... but unfortuately, I had no idea I had it util I got back to the office... therefore, I never got their names... :-(

A Second Look

This is a photo I took a long time ago and just ran across again. I never really liked the orginal image... but after seeing a thumbnail of it I got an idea.... Why not make it black and white and make a siloutte out of it? So I did. :-) I like this image much better than the first time I toned it.... it's so much more artsy now. :-)

Sunset

I saw this while driving to a volleyball game... There was a farmer combining in the field and I stopped to get a photo of him going in front of the sunset... Unfortunately, he turned and went the other direction and completely ruined my vision.... :-) But I thought the sunset was so pretty that I snapped a photo of anyway. :-)

Sunday Services

Another random photo I picked up at an assignment... I just liked the warm light coming from the stained glass window to the right. I wouldn't have minded photographing him when the church was empty... it would have made for a much more dramatic photo...

Team Xtreme

I was assigned to photograph Team Xtreme when they came to town... even though I didn't have a lot of time to spend at the assignment, I did end up getting this photo with really neat lighting. :-)

Autumn is here!

A few photos from the Whittier Mum Festival...

I like this photo... but I really really wish that van wasn't parked there!!

Reflection

I spotted this and I just couldn't pass up the oportunity for a self portrait! :-)

Mobile Dentist

A few shots from the mobile dentist that visited one of the local preschools. A pretty neat organization that helps youngsters get dental care at an early age.

Car Clouds

Just some clouds reflected in the hood of my car. I thought it looked interesting and so I shot it while waiting on an assignment. :-)

Hurricane Ike

Ohio isn't exactly near an ocean... but that doesn't mean hurricanes can't tear through the area! After Ike hit Texas, he decided to make his way to Ohio bringing 71 mph winds along with him! Definitely the strongest wind I've ever seen!

I can find cuteness anywhere! Even when hunting storm damage photos... :-)

Golf Art

Sometimes random art happens when you don't really want it to.... Like when your lens back focuses when trying to shoot golf. :-) I thought it kind of looked like some impressionist painting...

Introducing Louise McGhees

Welcome to Louise McGhees! How can I describe it??? well... Not your typical bar you'd find in Sidney, Ohio! (It's way too cool for Sidney!) :-) It's a place to come and chill, and catch up with friends while you listen to some amazing live music... It just has such a unique atmosphere! There's nothing else like it in the area!

Lucas and I discovered it on accident when a friend of mine told me that this awesome Bluegrass band was playing in this building across the street from Applefest. We were finished for the night and decided to go check it out. Needless to say, we were really happy we did! Not only did we make some new friends, and get to listen to an amazing band, but we got to hang out and take some of the first photos of McGhees. :-)

The only downside... It isn't officially open yet! (But soon...) :-) Enjoy the sneak peek! :-)

Blue Storm at McGhees

And this is Terry, the owner and creative mind behind the whole thing! Good Luck with McGhees... We'll be some of the first there when it opens!!! :-)

Blue Storm at McGhees

Meet Blue Storm... :)

What can I say? They are an awesome group of Bluegrass musicians that have more musical talent then I could ever dream of having. I can enjoy bluegrass music... but I would not exactly call myself a big fan... However, these guys might win me over to become a fan of the genre! I'm still blown away at how awesome they were!

Lead singer Richard Propps plays his guitar between sets during a performance at Louise McGhees.

This image is not my usual style... Usually, I would look at it, consider it too grainy and pass it by. But for some reason I decided to start playing with it... and I feel I ended up with something more than just a photo of the fiddle player... It's more along the lines of a 'work of art'... :-) To me, It just looks like something that you would see hanging in a gallery somewhere with a hefty price sticker on it... Maybe I should look at my reject photos more often... :-)
